Architect and Laboratory Planner Andy Stepp, AIA, and Mechanical Engineer James Beecher, PE, LEED AP, discussed program planning for animal facility construction and renovation during their presentation at the 72nd American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) National Meeting in Kansas City. The two walked attendees through the process of completing a building program and discussed modular planning, net-to-gross ratios, construction costs vs. soft costs, and engineering systems considerations.
